FoodChain and Nourish Lexington
have provided over 100,000 fresh meals to those in need.
Help us provide 100,000 more by the end of the year.
Since the beginning of Covid-19, we have seen unprecedented need in our community.
Now, as schools start back on August 26th under a “Non-traditional Instruction” model, it’s clear that access to wholesome, nutritious food is limited, especially for food-insecure youth who can’t rely on meals provided in school.
In the face of so much uncertainty we know this: the need for access to freshly prepared meals has never been greater.
Your donation will be put to work to nourish those who need it most. While students are learning at home this fall, let’s make sure they aren’t trying to solve hunger issues as well. With your support, we can provide another 100,000 meals through the end of 2020.
Nourish Lexington, a call-to-action collaboration between FoodChain, VisitLex, Keeneland and the Murry Family Foundation, was formed to prepare and distribute fresh, nutritious meals to anyone in need. Over 100,000 meals were provided between April and July.
This incredible team has worked together in the FoodChain Kitchen and beyond to alleviate hardship by providing meals for food insecure children and families that need immediate access to meals including hospitality industry families and vulnerable seniors in affordable housing complexes. The effort has also linked the skills and bounty of our local food system professionals, including farmers, cooks, distributors, marketers, and servers in order to provide tens of thousands of meals for free to those struggling through this pandemic.
We are so grateful for your support. Thank you for helping us Nourish Lexington.
Together, we will get through this.
